Julie Ellen "Tawny," Kitaen was an American model and actress. She lived between May 7th, 2021 until August 5, 1961. Her career began as a television actor, appearing in the television movies Malibu (1983), California Girls (1985). She also starred as Gwendoline in the comedienne film the Land of the Yik-Yak (both 1984) and Bachelor Party (1985). Kitaen gained widespread recognition due to her role in numerous heavy metal music videos including Ratt's (1984) "Back for More", Whitesnake ?Ts ("Still of the Night") and Whitesnake ?Ts ("Is This Love") (all 1987). In the late 2000s, Kitaen began appearing on reality television series, such as Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew (2008) which explored Kitaen's struggles with addiction. Julie Kitaen was the youngest of three children. She was born in San Diego in 1961 to Linda Kitaen (nee Taylor) an actress, a former beauty pageant participant , as well as Terry Kitaen who worked for the neon sign industry. Kitaen's mom was of Scottish and Irish heritage, and her father was of Russian Jewish heritage. Kitaen was born Jewish. She was first able to use the nickname "Tawny" when she was 12 and on her own initiative. [6] As a child she struggled with dyslexia. This led her dropping out of Mission Bay High School. 7.
